Not Here Series
Referencing modern Japanese prints and comic books, the Not Here series, is a study in opposites. The bright colors of Southern California are juxtaposed with the somber images of a life in crisis. Based on a friendship with another artist, during a residency in Santa Ana, a shocking tragedy occurred in her life during the time of our brief connection. She was sustained during her shock and sadness by a sensitive and beautiful pet, her rat Sloppy Chops.
Printed in two separate editions these seven prints are available both in sets or as single prints. One edition is printed on a rare Japanese paper with an underlay of soft color and the other addition is printed on Japanese Yupo and is hand colored in bright inks.
